Ethel Harris, age 106, of Fleming-Neon, Kentucky entered eternal life on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital of Whitesburg, Kentucky. She was born on May 31, 1913 in Matewan, West Virginia to the late Will and Emma Brown Stamps. Mrs. Harris lived most of her life in Letcher County and was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church of Fleming, Kentucky.
Other than by her parents, Ethel was preceded in death also by her husband, Theodore Harris and by one son, Jimmy Slone.
She is survived by three sons: Eugene Slone of Lexington, Kentucky, Chester Slone of Winchester, Kentucky and Jerry Sloan of Estero, Florida; two grandchildren: Megan and Kerra; along with a host of other family and many friends.
Visitation for Mrs. Harris will be held at the Carty Funeral Home of Fleming-Neon, Kentucky on Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM for the public.
Funeral services for Mrs. Harris will be conducted from the funeral home on Monday, February 10, 2020 at 11 AM with Pastor Steve Peake officiating.
Interment will follow in the Fleming Cemetery of Fleming, Kentucky.
