Robert T. Johnson “Bob”, age 76, of Jenkins, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Friday May 1, 2020 at his residence. He was born on August 26, 1943, in Letcher County, Kentucky to the late William Preston Johnson and Della Mae Quesenberry Johnson. Robert worked for many years along beside his fatherland brothers in the coal mines before moving to Valdosta, Georgia, where he worked in the fiberglass industry for thirty-six years
He and his wife blessed so many with their God given talent of singing at their beloved home, the Payne Gap Freewill Baptist Church, where the attended, along with many other churches throughout the community.
Bob loved people and was always ready to help or brighten their day with a song,smile or with jokes. He was a talented and gifted singer, writer and musician. He greatly enjoyed the quiet times planting flowers and gardening. He had many interests and loved life. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Brenda Johnson, Payne Gap, Kentucky; three sons, Marcus (Carolyn) and Ronnie, both of Valdosta, Georgia, Nolan (Stacey), Hamlet, North Carolina; ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, five sisters, three brothers, his close friend and pastor, Hollis Bevins and a host of many many friends.
